Prep up in Peplum

Hello,

A quick post about peplum tops. I love them. I got myself the black one, they come in a variety of hues, patterns and textures. They are figure friendly and comfortable :) If you're an online shopper definitely have a look on asos.com.

Mobile update

Hello,

I've managed to squeeze in a haircut & shopping in amongst juggling three phones (I'm working for my parents this week). Here are a few poor quality mobile snaps :). I'm contemplating a new Prada but hesitated on the colour choice. The beige Saffiano Leather Tote is what initially caught my eye, but the elegance of the black draws me in. I have a few days to make my decision.

I've been enjoying reading at the coffee shop on quiet afternoons. I highly recommend The Secret by Rhonda Byrne. It's an excellent self-improvement book for those who want to be in control of their life.

This is after my appointment at the salon, nothing drastic just trimmed off some dead ends. :)

Post-hospital placement

Hello
I've finished one of the busiest weeks of the year. Long days in the hospital standing in operating theaters have taken their toll. I don't know how surgeons do this full time! In the past week I've learnt an incredible amount of dentistry. I'm so grateful for the opportunity to work alongside 'top-dog' maxillo-facial surgeons, oral surgeons, house surgeons, and the entire surgical team. They are all such inspirations and devote their career to improve the health and well-being of the general population.
After wearing scrubs and providing minimal attention to my appearance all week. I've dressed up for friday nights activities. The headband is coming off, but I thought it'd be nice for the snaps.

Stunning Shanghai

Hello
This week I’m on hospital placement. My first day has been good but tiring and I've been warned tomorrow will be hectic. I haven’t had time to take any photos but I’ve been enjoying blogging so much that I still wanted to post something. Here is my hometown, Shanghai. I was born there and lived there in my childhood. I consider it my home and visit as much as I can. People say it is the 'eastern New York', but I call New York the 'western Shanghai'. :-)

These are a few snaps from my most recent visit.

Bright bracelets

Hello

I've been seeing the arm candy trend everywhere recently, so I've decided to hop on the bandwagon. It's difficult for me to buy jewelry for my wrists because they are abnormally thin. I actually don't like how thin they are. Solid bangles are usually out of the question because they don't have adjustable length.
Here are two I picked up yesterday at Lovisa to start off my collection. I've been brave and ventured out into the bright colours as I'm usually one for wearing plain silver only. But I'm lovin' it *cue Mcdonalds jingle*!

I feel a bit more 'grown-upy' wearing the gold one. I'm planning to wear it out for a dinner date tonight by the marina. The turquoise one is also fun innit?
Here's a pic for a casual outfit of the gold bracelet with a vintage crocodile leather clutch (Thank you mother).

Skipping around in Skirts

Hello

I've been keeping my eyes open on A-line skirts, and I spotted this gem at Cue. I love Cue they have top quality & fashion-forward clothing. It's not the most affordable place but are frequently on sale, so I suggest you to take a detour into one of their stores.
A-line skirts are so versatile and feminine. They are suitable for both formal and casual occasions. Perfect wardrobe staple.

A bit of DIY glitz

Hello
I started to get really sick of my phone case. It's white and has become an embarrassing  dirty stained colour. I've searched high & low for a prettier alternative but my phone (HTC sensational XL) doesn't seem to be very popular in the cellphone case market. So I resorted to DIY. I found some of these bling/rhinestone stickers at the local dollar store. I bought two sheets because my phone is a bit larger than the standard (iPhone) and it needed a bit of jig-saw work to cover it all up.

I know it doesn't cover the entire back... but it's an improvement from before. :)

et voila !

The result is not too bad but the true test will be how long it'll last before a) I get frustrated with bits of rhinestone falling off or b) I get bullied into growing up and switching to a more 'adult' cases :-)

Fancy a cuppa?

Hello

My sister brought home these adorable wee cups today. They're a bit of a novelty but are quite unique. I would describe them as the offspring of a traditional mug and take-out coffee. The lid is silicone and the body is ceramic. They come in a range of colours and are available from Farmers (if you're in NZ).

Tonight I'm sipping on honey & lemon tea.

Hello

I've been working from home this morning, slouching around in pajama's and drinking green tea.
Here's a few snaps of later in the day when I wore clothes more suitable for going public.

Kindle e-Reader with Wi-Fi

Kindle e-Reader with Wi-Fi 6" E-ink Display

I purchased mine through Amazon 2 months ago. I love it. This is the first ink reader I've used and I'm thoroughly impressed. Being super light weight and a perfect size for my hand are two of my favourite features. The new release books are at a good price compared to bookstores and arrive on your kindle seconds after you hit the buy now button. I would suggest users to purchase a cover with a light attachment as this device doesn't work well in low-lit environments. If you love to read outdoors at the cafe or by the pool then you might want to look into investing in one of these babies. The pricing advertised is not the price you will be paying for internationally shipped Kindles. It ended up being $154 NZD (incl shipping). It arrived in the mail in what amazon calls frustration free packaging and it sure was. :)

The lending library and a lot of the features marketed on the main kindle website is not available outside the USA. But they do not make this clear until you're signed up ready to go and then end up contacting the customer service to see what went wrong.
The battery life is great. You don't need to worry about packing the charger for weekend trips or short holidays. Mine usually lasts 1-2 weeks on a usual 3 to 4 hour reading day. I can't comment too much on the other versions of the kindle, except to say that I don't see many advantages of having a larger kindle. The controllers are simple and easy to use although typing does take a fair bit of time.

I've been devouring Game of Thrones recently, it's an addiction. Full of mystery, action, adventure and scandal it definitely lives up to all the hype.

All in all, great product, great price would be 10/10 if all the features were available internationally.

Feeling 'Blah' on a winter day

Hello

Today I felt 'blah' from the moment I woke up. I had nothing on my agenda apart from a doctors appointment which I knew I wouldn't keep since I was feeling better and this was no ordinary doctor, it was a specialist charging $200 for a wee consult. Sadly it was also the monthly time of being stuck in bed with cramps and a hot water bottle #girlproblems (TMI?). I digress, after an uneventful morning I decided to snap out of my own misery and ventured outdoors to enjoy the daylight.
I don't live rural enough to see horses strolling down the street everyday. So this was an unusual sighting :)

Recently, I've been getting into levitation photography. If you have a spare moment I would suggest you take a peek at Yowa's Levitation, she floats with such grace and elegance and her images are simply breath-taking. I can only hope practice comes with improvement.

Welcome & Rambles

Hello Blogger world inhabitants,

Welcome to my blog. I'm starting this new blog on a late monday night with sleep eluding me and a thirst for a new hobby. At this stage the future contents of this blog are still uncertain. But as this is my little corner of the world wide web I'll just happily post whatever places a smile upon my heart and hopefully brighten someones day if anyone happens to stumble here.

As much as this blog is about sharing my individuality with the world, it is also a place for me to discover myself and keep a record of the changes in my life.

I'm eager to see what features are available on Blogger and shall now sign off to explore.
